In order to identify whether the app prototype provides good user experience a user test was required, however due to time contraints a Guerilla User Test was performed instead.
7 Tasks were perfomed on the App prototype.
- Can a user Create an Article
- Can the user work out how to add an image into an article
- Can the user locate a specific already created article
- Can the user locate all the photos in the media library
- Can the user add an additional photo to the media library.
- Can the user locate all the media items within a specific list on the website
- Can the user locate all site wide messages (maintenance reports etc)
The Prototype was designed for an Iphone 6s however was performed on a Sony Experia SP and as a result of this button sizes had been reduced. This did cause a small issue when users were trying to use some buttons, but did not adversly effect the ability to perform the tasks.
Full Lists of results can be downloaded here guerilla-usability-template.
As a result of the test no major issues were reported why the biggest problem came from adding an image into an article page. For some users it took a little hunting around to find how to add an image they still achieved this task reletively quickly.
Potential fixes to the problem could be a task bar in the content section with the add image icon. Press and hold in content to provide an add image dropdown.
